Welcome to Book Club

I have a confession to make...

I have a book-buying problem. It's not the worst problem to have. Learning and reading is good for the mind and the soul. But when you are limited on bookshelf space, it's a challenge to find a home for all the books. While I enjoy curling up on the couch with a good book, I also have quite the virtual stack of audio books too. With a good narrator, books are easier to listen to when commuting in the car or walking my dog.

As I have just finished yet another audio book and am still working my way through the last of the 2023 pile, one of my intentions for 2024 is to read (and listen to) more books or at least finish all the books I started and move them from the pile of "started" to "finished" before adding more books to the pile. I can't make any guarantees that won't happen though.

As I dive into my book pile for 2024, venturing into a new year of inspiration and learning, I'm put out an open call to all friends, new and old, accountability partners, reading buddies or anyone who wants to join in.

To kick off my book club. I am starting with Adam Alters's, Anatomy of a Breakthrough.

“Almost everyone feels stuck in some way. Whether you’re muddling through a midlife crisis, wrestling writer’s block, trapped in a thankless job, or trying to remedy a fraying friendship, the resulting emotion is usually a mix of anxiety, uncertainty, fear, anger, and numbness. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Anatomy of a Breakthrough is the roadmap we all need to escape our inertia and flourish in the face of friction.”

How will it work? In the simplest of terms, we kick off reading the book together on the 1st of the month, and at the end of the month, we meet up virtually for an open discussion and chat about the book.

Sound interesting and want to join? reach out via the contact form and we will add you to the list.
